Where is the smoke coming from

I hope that I am not mistaken about this: toward the end of the movie, when "How deep is your love" is playing, the WTC towers are being shown and it is twilight, a certain kind of smoke fills up the horizon. I've never been there: where is that smoke coming from? (Maybe early dawn, fog, etc?)

I am also not sure how Tony got the address of Stephanie (Stephanie is surely not the kind to giveaway her home address that easily, lol) but that is a question for another day.

Dont know about the smoke but he helped her move in.

Maybe its haze from pollution

I'm your daddy and what do I do?

If you're referring to the sunrise over Manhattan as Tony rides the subway to Stephanies place, it was a time elapse shot and there are some clouds in the sky....it wasn't coming from the WTC and is/was not a foreboding precursor to 9/11.

Consolidated Edison (Con Ed) operates the New York City steam system, the largest commercial district heating system in the United States. In addition to providing space and water heating, steam from the system is used in numerous restaurants for food preparation, for process heat in laundries and dry cleaners, and to power absorption chillers for air conditioning.
