Holy cow! I know they didn't deserve to win, but that routine to More Than a Woman was so weak! And that gang fight where no one landed a punch, and the girl was "knocked out cold" by being slapped? Oh, man...for as much as I like this movie, I hang my head in shame at the utter stupidity of those scenes.
I don't recall the fight, I would have to watch the movie again. However, I think you are dead on with the choice of music for the dance. I always wondered why they did not pick a livelier, more upbeat tune to dance to. The choice they picked was a snoozer for a disco dance contest. Just my opinion, but I'm glad to see I'm not alone in it. :)
Well, they could have danced to the Sesame Street theme song and still won, because the club was biased towards Tony. That's why he got mad at the end, because he knew their routine stunk compared to the other couples.
And yeah that fight scene was pretty bad. That Sam Kinison guy who grabbed Bobby behind the wheel did that pratfall on the pavement...
The black couple should've been first, the Hispanic couple second...Tony and Stephanie shouldn't even have placed. But at least the movie knew it was ridiculous...
That fight scene, though And the way you could so clearly see the dummies in the car when they crashed through the wall.
"What race are you? If you don't tell me I'll just...assume the worst."
Odd since I thought Tony's was much better than the people who thought should have won. No doubt any club is biased towards their regulars, but I still didn't see what was so glaringly amazing about the Mexican couple.
