An argument in favor of Stephanie: Hector & Maria

Stephanie was supposed to be a bad dancer. If Stephanie was a good a dancer as Tony, then they would have legit. beat Hector and Maria.

Tony liked Stephanie because she was uninhibited on the dance floor. He didn't look at her that first time because he was wow'd by her dance moves. He liked the fact that she was owning the floor and dancing around all confident and carefree.

Otherwise, I thought the actress was pretty good. She was a typical NYC gal from the burroughs, accent, attitude. She had ambitions like Melanie Griffith's character in Working Girl. Except "she don't got no college" so she had to use her typing skills and a casting couch to get ahead.

Gotta disagree. Either Stephanie was badly cast with regard to her dance chops, or the producers spent no time and effort to get her up to speed as they did for Travolta.

The final dance that Tony and Stephanie did was not as exciting or as difficult as the Hector and Maria's, which is why they should have lost, not because Stephanie was supposed to be inferior to her. Annette was terrible as well.

Is very bad to steal Jobu's rum. Is very bad.

Stephanie was supposed to be a good dancer, but TIIC didn't bother to have Karen or anyone besides Travolta learn to dance professionally.
