The first review here states that this film is influenced, from among others, by DePalma's 'The Fury'! If the writer had done some minor research, he'd realize this cold not be true. 'The Fury' was made after, and released after 'Ruby'-almost a year later.

I dunno where that review is (they're rotated constantly), but THE FURY was based on a novel that was released before the film. Having just watched THE FURY a few days ago and RUBY today, I can't think of a single way that they're alike... other than the fact that RUBY starred Piper Laurie and THE FURY was directed by Brian DePalma and starred Amy Irving -- all of whom worked together on CARRIE. Oh yeah, and Janit Baldwin was in DePalma's PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE. They're connected through cast and crew perhaps, but not story.
