Is Medusa the most underrated Disney villain ever?

I recently watched this film for the first time in years and I have to say Madame Medusa may be the most underrated villain in the Disney line up. I don't know why. She is a fantastic villain. She is hilarious and over the top but still a genuine threat to the heroes. You love to hate her.

She is fantastically animated by Milt Kahl. She is truly a joy to watch in every scene she's in. And Geraldine Page gives a wonderful performance. You can tell she had a blast with the part. I don'tkno why Disney ignores her.

I think most people feel she is a Cruella knock off but they aren't very similar. And when you break it down pretty much all Disney villains are similar. The Evil Queen, Lady Tremaine and Maleficent are all very similar. Jafar, Scar and Shere Khan are all similar. Prince John and Sir Hiss are basically Captain Hook and Smee as animals. Ursula is like a combo of Cruella and Meudsa. So why is Medusa the one who gets left in the dust for being similar to another character?

Disney could make more merchandise of her. When they make merchandise of the villains it is always The Queen, Maleficent, Ursula and Cruella. And sometimes the Queen of Hearts. I think Medusa would fit right in. Just throw her in her purple coat and there you go.

She is one of the best villains and deserves more recognition.
