where on dvd and is it a decent copy

reply

I did a search on amazon.com to get that info.

I have it on dvd and I bought it from Amazon.

It's a pretty low budget release but it's better then nothing.

I'm watching it right now on a projector. The picture is fairly grainy. It's like watching an old video tape.

Great film. Has to be one of the best made for TV films. Unfortunately, it's probably not a big enough film to ever have any restoration done to it.

ColonelFaulkner: Do you still drink your scotch "large, neat," and in one gulp? Made any more trips to Africa lately?

That's an excellent IMDb moniker you have, Colonel. From a movie that's a sin-full pleasure.

I've just bought the R2 release - DO NOT buy it from PLAY.com, the quality of the transfer is shocking, way below VHS standard.

I bought the R1 release from an Amazon Marketplace seller. Big mistake. The Amazon ad says it is made by Televista and is 150 minutes long. The version I received was made by Thorn EMI Video (also has WHAM!USA on DVD cover). This version is 113 minutes long and of terrible quality. Haven't seen the Televista copy yet but have ordered it. Hopefully it is better quality and the true 150 minute version. 8/30/10. I received what was supposed to be the Televista copy and it was still the WHAM!USA copy of average quality, not up to current dvd standards. It is watchable, however. It seems obvious, that no dvd dealers have a copy that is of excellent quality. And, no one apparently has the 150 minute version either. I'm gonna wait and see if it comes out on TV again and record it. I caught about the last 30 minutes of the film on TV about a month ago and it was good quality and must have been the 150 minute version, as the ending was different.

It's been 4 years since anyone responded, so here's an update:
NO
Watching a Netflix copy now, and It's a horrible copy. It's like I'm watching a crappy VHS tape on a 1974 Zenith TV. Bad colors, nothing digital, just all-around bad. I would do like Ibevil said and record it yourself. (121 minutes, WHAMUSA, no subtitles).

i got this on dvd thinking it would be an action packed bronson flick, that's what the cover had you think, then i start to the movie, credits roll on and on, finally his name appears as "also..." or something, then he shows up very late, though i wasn't disappointed in the movie, some great actors, that balsam fellow.

a brief encounter,
still brings my mind to excitement,
of a girl so sexy, and what i'd like to do,
would make people blush a moment or two,
just a little brief encounter,
still got my mind haunted.
