Best thing about this film is ....Yaphet Kotto!!

He's as good in this as he is in "Midnight Run"!

Kotto gave one of his best performances here. He makes a real impact and a lingering impression in every one of his scenes. It's also appreciable from his performance just how dangerous and sinister Idi Amin was behind his smile and publicity.

The funny thing is that Kotto's excellent performance is actually more subtle and nuanced than the real Idi Amin. Check out the documentary "General Idi Amin Dada - A Self Portrait".

It was great seeing him after knowing him from Alien so much. Whenever a hostage spoke to him, his sudden quietness always made me think he was going to kill them, from being insulted or something.

Kotto was indeed excellent in this film ... however I felt all the performances were good. It is also one of Peter Finch's best pieces of work. I think its the only film I've seen Charles Bronson in in which he actually acts! Stephen Macht and James Woods were excellent also.
