I am just getting into David cronenburg and I've seen almost every film (minus Shivers and this). I am willing to see it open minded and willing to appreciate it and yet not willing to dismiss something if it's not appreciative just becuase it's cronenburg. Will I be dissapointed? I hope not. I mean this movie got 6/10 but so did other enjoyable movies.

I didn't care too much for Scanners but loved Shivers. Just watched that tonight with Rabid. Shivers is by far the better film. Watch Rabid first so that it's not a dissapointment.

shareIt was very comical don't you think but then again, Cronenberg seemed to have been in a good mood when he made this unlike the atmosphere in The Brood.
I mean, the guy wearing a sweatshirt with the words "jogging kills" while out running and the guy that got his eye poked out showing up at the road-side diner, hilarious. Some of it got intense as when Dr Cypher returns home to find his wife and child, that was reminiscent of the horror that Cronenberg taps into.
It is still nice to see his early work though I haven't seen Shivers which is quite lazy of me. Is there as much humour in Shivers as in Rabid?
I liked Scanners and The Brood better concerning the older Cronenbergs. Rabid was pretty boring.
