Did they change the title to make a quick buck?

The original title to this film is "Quel maledetto treno blindato". Which translates to "Those cursed armored train". I have also seen this movie before as "Deadly Mission". Does anyone else think (or know) if they changed the title on this film to cash in on the Tarantino film coming out?

The Tarantino film is renamed after this one.

Inglorious Bastards was always the intended English title of this film, from the very beginning. Director Enzo Castellari says in the DVD commentary that the Italian title was forced on it by the studio.

Thanks for the info! I had never heard that title before and was a bit confused. And thanks for not giving me crap for my lack of knowledge, like some other people might (will) do.

There was also a version of the film released under the title G.I. Bro -- it was cut pretty heavily to focus more on Fred Williamson's character.

Yea I've never seen that cut, I wonder how they do it without making the film seem too short or just not flow as smooth.

I've never seen it either, so I don't know. But I'm sure it must lose something in both time and continuity.

About changing the title, the marquee of the only movie theater in my small, conservative, bible-belt town said "Inglorious Bees."
