Greatest unknown car chase movie of all times?

NO one EVER mentiones this film, just stuff like Ronin et al where many of the shots were shot at low speed and sped up for the film.

What this film gave us? Several Police spec and undercover Alfa Gulia Ti and Super sedans, three "tuned" Citroen DS sedans (stunts by Remy) and a "Flying Squad" Ferrari duke it out on the streets of Rome in the 1970s.

The Citroen abuse was insane, I owned a Citroen D Super at the time I first saw the movie and could not imagine driving it that way!

Checking here on this site shows it not available, I have a copy from a late friend on VHS from Japan.

I think no one mentions it because it is (or was) impossible to find. I read about it somewhere a while back and put it on my "to watch" list of car chase movies in case I ever found it. Today I found that Amazon is actually selling Convoy Busters on DVD.

The only weird part was when I searched online and found a review that said there wasn't a "proper car chase" in the movie. What the hell? Based on your description and the review you gave above, it's definitely a car chase movie.

Now the wait continues for "Moonrunners" and "Hot Rods to Hell" on DVD...

Never mind. There are TWO Italian movies called "Convoy Busters" in one English-speaking country or another. That's not confusing. Yeesh. "Highway Racer" is still not available. Despite "Highway Racer" being called "Convoy Busters" elsewhere it's not "Convoy Busters". My head hurts now.

This film is now available on the Grindhouse Experience Vol. 2 DVD. I'm watching it right now. Great Fun.

Don't play stupid with me - I'm better at it!
