'To Sir with Love'

There are parts of this film that remind one of TSWL

How can that be as Mark was not a American Crook?

Besides the "actual sequel" was a TV movie first which then went to video.

That's true---it's actually pretty good, and probably the best of the trilogy, but yeah, it gets no credit, plus the young woman who dogs out the teacher (played by future DREAMGIRLS star, the always lovely Sheryl Lee Ralph, in her film debut) has one of the best scenes in the movie. Ralph discusses in her recent bio REDEFINING DIVA:LIFE LESSONS FROM THE ORIGINAL DREAMGIRL how she got the role, and how Poitier advised her on how to get through her nervousness about it---worth reading, too.
