'I Saw A Dragon'

On the soundtrack album, there's much more to the song. I'm assuming this was from footage that was cut before release?

It depends what version of the film you have seen or have. When I saw the film (originally on video nearly 30 years ago), the picture was cut to ribbons, with entire numbers and songs cut out. 'I Saw A Dragon' was only shown to about 1/3 of it's original length. When I then watched the film on TV a couple of years later (still in the 1980's) they screened the entire 2 and a half hour version, with all the songs intact or restored. The DVD I have seen is also the full version.

Correct and partially correct.
Due animation production and shooting issues, eight (8) songs were originally written for the film, but only six (6) got approved. Then two others were composed, awaiting approval, including "I swear I saw a dragon" which incidentally then appeared in the mid-opening tavern scene, with Lampie and the guys. Overall, 12 songs were written for its original release, but again, production calls and budget constraints pended if all would be used. The original soundtrack release (I still have mine) features all 12 songs.

Curiously, when I bought the (finally released) CD last year, all 12 songs were included, but some contained interrupting dialogue from the film, not included with the original scores, nor the original album release.
