Don't Remake This Classic!

I'm fine with Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella being remade (Maleficent is good and I heard from people I know that Cinderella is good as well), but does Disney really have to remake Pete's Dragon?

They seem to be remaking every movie they've made. I believe Disney is going too far with remaking their movies; they already have a live-action Pinocchio planned, which probably won't be as good as the original. How will they film the title character without making him look creepy? What's next, a live-action remake of Dumbo with CGI pink elephants and technicolor pachyderms? That's "really too much for me."

I wish Disney would put their time and energy in making new films rather than remaking their classics.

I agree with youy 100%some movies must just be left alone. Don't remake them especially musicals. Leave them alone. And I have heard that this petes dragon is not going to have any music at all I can allready see it *disaster*

Pete's Dragon 1977 was a huge bomb and was never embraced by the masses. THIS definitely could benefit form a remake!

This was a cute fun family film that might not have been a hit back then, but has since been remembered fondly. The remake looks like a Hollywood blockbuster blunt force trauma, not the cute family musical it used to be.gotta stop stop with the remakes already!!

This is a classic film to me. People love this film. The ramake looks terrible and having Robert Redford in the film makes it worse. He has to be the most overrated actor in the world.

It's not like it bombed. It cost 10 million and made 36 million. That's a pretty good return for 1977. Remember Star Wars was the first film to really explode and make a lot of money.

Personally I feel they made the remake right. I love the original but they made the remake in such a way that from the get go you feel the two versions can coexist and even be watch back to back. The remake opted for a very different tone, it's more like ET then the original film. The remake made me tear up at the end. I would have been mad if they would have made a remake like ghostbusters or Poltergeist were they stick way too close to the original source material while making small changes that enrages the fans but the new Pete's dragon did not try to emulate the original at all and did it's own thing. Love both films, both are good family films.
