What came first, this or Star Wars?

I only ask because Lady Charlotte seems to be sporting Princess Leia’s famous ‘duel donut’ hairstyle!

And she is in a white out fit.
And the two actresses look a lot a like.
And the pilot looks, acts and dresses like Han Solo minus the black vest.
And they have the exact same bickering relationship.
And she is an expert shot.
And there is a poor mans Jabba the Hutt with Jabba's favorite pet.
And the Naga's are the only ones in the entire civilization that wear head to toe armor.
And the Exectioner is played by Darth Vader himself.
And the captain on the ship was an Admiral on the Deathstar.
And the poor man's Jabba likes to toss people into a (lava) pit.
And the prison escape involved wearing Naga armor.
And they have the same mood music.
And the planes mechanic-engineer kicks more butt then the rest of the cast combined without any help while doing ship repairs an still gets no respect.

WOW!! I'm watching it right now, noticed that Lady Charlotte is indeed wearing the Princess Leia doo and wanted to log on to IMDB to see if that actress was who I thought it was...Ursa from Superman 1 & 2. It was. And now after reading your post, I'm realizing all those similarities you are talking about. Pretty funny! So if I had to imply some simple logic, I'd have to say this movie came after Star Wars. lol

This opened two weeks after "STAR WARS" so I suspect mid-seventies fashion trends and nothing else.

And those are almost all archetypal adventure story plot elements that both Lucas and Burroughs drew from, so there should be no real surprises there.

Also you missed Shane Rimmer, who has a bit part in A New Hope.

There is no such film as A New Hope. It's title is Star Wars.

Dave Prowse is also in The People That Time Forgot & Star Wars

This film 'The People That Time Forgot', Star Wars, Superman 1 & 2 all were made between 1977-1980 (?)

Sarah Douglas's hair-do does look like Princess Leia's donuts, but as mentioned perhaps just a style of the late 70's.

However Sara seems to have aged about 10 years and got a deeper voice from between this film and Superman 1&2.

Without knowing when this film was made I would have guessed 1965 NOT 1977!!

That bun style and variants are popular in some European countries. It has a specific name but cant find it at the moment. That style was also in use in the 1910s to 1920.

Here is one example.

This movie is set shortly after WW1, but Star Wars is from a long long long time ago, so Star Wars obviously came first
