The folks who trained the dogs (and some other stuff)


The folks who trained the dogs did an amazing job. The lead dog snarled realistically, and I loved the way he seemed to communicate with the rest of the pack. One of the best performances by an animal I've seen.

Note that the book is worth checking out if you can find it, and it's not a novelization of the screenplay.

Joe Don Baker makes a great marine biologist. Here's a scientist who isn't an egghead or a wimp.

The supporting cast (of humans) is uniformly good!

This is a great little movie, and I'd love to see it out in widescreen on DVD.
