this was a really weird subplot.
why was the dad forcing lois on tommy? and why was lois so willing and tommy so resistant? bizarre.
i wish my dad brought pretty girls on vacation with us for me to "take walks" with.
he mentioned to her that his dad "was the kind of guy that gave him his car after driving it for 3 years".
From that it's inferred that the dad slept with her first.
Tommy's dad didn't think Tommy acted like a "real man". Tommy, from what I remember was very shy and gentle. Apparently, the father's idea of a real man was someone who had a girlfriend with whom he fooled around.
