Why he did Mae West so well

I don't know if anyone remembers, but it seems to me that Craig Russell at one point in his life, before he became a female impersonator, actually went to Hollywood and became the personal secretary to Mae West. Obviously, having studied her for a long period of time from so close, he was able to imitate her better than just about anyone.
