Great art film


I found that film both soothing and mesmerising.

I remember seeing the poster for that film as a child (sadly not shown on IMDB), I now think it must have been 10th avenue.

The sometime muffled narration reminds me of some of Terence Mallick films.

The superposition of a concerned (and perhaps a little envious!) mother's letters onto the New York inhabited by her daughter (I think the restaurant shown must have been where the director was waitressing for example) is a fascinating study into self -absorption.
