So glad she didn't go to him at the end

i really didn't care for this movie, i only watched it cuz im in love with Liza.

Anyways, Im so glad she had enough sense not to go to him at the end. i said "if she goes out there im gonna be so freakin pissed that i sat through this whole movie!" LOL. cuz he treated her like total *beep* and she (like many women i know) put up with all of that BS. It frustrates me when women do that. So I'm just glad she had enough sense not to take him back.

I'll even say this- if she would have kept to her guns and kept saying no to him at the beginning, she would have had her stardom waaaaaaay sooner.

Yeah,I tought the same thing.Even tough both shared passion for the music and the show business and together had great moments,I realized Francine was sweet, delicate and nice, opposite to Jimmy, always in a bad mood, womanizer and treating Francine like a scum bag.I tought she deserved and needed other man. Both had different feelings, she very sweet and he too tough..
It was a sad ending, because after all what they did together, the job,the marriage, the kid..they end up in separate ways.
Somehow you want they to come back again, but on the other hand you feel they don't have future, they are not really made for each other.Francine deserved a guy who treated her like a princess and apreciated her talent without envy or jeaolous, and Jimmy needed really a slu7t as wife or girlfriend.Francine was too good and "innocent" for him.And he too tough and rude for her.No way.She was wise, leaving him behind. She could meet other man, much better than Jimmy,so why go back with him? He was a bastard leaving her alone when she most needed him..:-/

Anthony, the light and love of my life..

Absolutely. If ever they make a device that allows you to send items into films, I will line up to send her a can of pepper spray (or whatever they had in 1945).
This is a musical, so you know damn well she will weaken (Aww c'mon woman!) and get together .. so it was a relief, and somewhat a surprise to find she walked out at the end. Especially as I had see that the film had what the review called a 'down beat ending' No it didn't.

few visible scars

This must be the only film where separating the main characters at the end lead to cheers.

Was surprised she even said "yes" initially.
