I have found the official DVD

... In Japan, at least:

I can't read Japanese, but I have ordered through them to get Sea Prince and Fire Child... It costs alot to import it in my opinion, and I have no idea if it will have English subs and or dubs.

But for the die hard fan... here you go.

I plan to purchase it, but since I have already spent nearly 40 bucks to import Sea Prince...
I'm going to wait on this purchase for a long while--

I am having posting text in Japanese... that's why the links aren't working.
I am very sorry folks, but at least it's on DVD and it's in Japan.

???????????

I REALLY hope the text will, this time... display--
If it does then that's the Japanese name of the DVD.

I'm trying to post the direct link again-- I've done something different. This time, I'm holding my breathe--

Okay-- it seems fate is working against me, but this time I found a link to who ever made this video where the text in the address bar has English only letter characteres...

Everyone, try this and I hope it will work...

Huzzah!
for great success....

the Sanrio link does work although I wouldn't buy through them... I like everything to come through amazon and if you're like me then go to

http://www.amazon.co.jp

And then copy and paste the japanese version name of this DVD... (using the sanrio link that I've provided...)

Sorry for creating so many posts but I think this will be helpful. At least we know this has a DVD, although I'm not sure if English is part of it.

I will more than likely buy this DVD now that I've seen this has been a rare find... although, since Sea Prince has put me back and I've finished paying school and I got a trip for Mexico so I can baptise my second cousin's baby--

I'm low on cash.

Pooling is a wonderful idea folks... all I need, really, is importation money. I'll buy the DVD for myself, and if people split up the shipping air fair and evenly (I'm aiming at least 2 or 3 people... five bucks each) You can have your own copy playable on your DVD. (Provided you either send me a blank DVD or reinburse me...)

This is just an idea... otherwise, I will purchase this and keep it all to myself.

I seriously didn't care if you believed me or not--
More important that I get it. If I can help out, so be it. If not-- too bad for you.

I wasn't joking. I can't paste the direct links because everytime I posted, IMBD's text turns the Japanese letters into boxes. So, how will anyone know if the links are dead everytime I try to post them?

That's why I was ESPECIALLY nice and patient to let people know how I got to the necessary pages...

But I plan to get my own version straight from Japan. After I've come back from Mexico. 12 bucks for the DVD. 15 bucks for shipping and handling. Who knows if Sanrio in the US will release an English version on DVD. It's costly to restore analog and transfer it to digital. Sea Prince and Water Child (Shiirisu No Densetsu) is an example... It's better than the VHS versions out there (but it is full of DUST)--

It maybe only a Japanese version this DVD.
But I don't really mind because Japanese original voices sometimes surpase the English dubbers.

Hello there,

Is it still possible to get a DVD-R? I can order through amazon.co.jp or cdjapan, but this would be easier and more direct. Regardless, you can email me at: [email protected] or reply to my IMDB user ID page. Thanks regardless!

PS: it looks like it is widescreen. I am also guessing that it is in japanese only?

Hi,

I watched this movie at school when I was little. I don't remember the story at all now but I remember I really liked it. A few days ago for some reason I thought about this movie and looked it up and came here.

Some of you are trying to find the DVD version. I found one website but as you all guessed the langueage is in Japanese (no subitiles):

http://www.yesasia.com/us/oyako-nezumi-no-fushigi-na-tabi-japan-versio n/1004528636-0-0-0-en/info.html

if you still want to get the copy I think this site may be easier to navigate.

Some mistakes are too much fun to make only once.

Yes, this and Ringing Bell (another amazing Sanrio movie released as a double feature with Mouse and his Child) are both available in Japanese only.

There is a *cough*bootleg*cough* DVD available of this film in English but I haven't seen it so I have no clue what the quality is like. If it is just another DVDr of a vhs, then forget it. Perhaps someone brilliantly used the Japanese print and dubbed over the English?

For me, personally, I'd much rather have subtitles although the English dub for Mouse and his Child is VERY good.

If anyone wants it on DVD, email [email protected] Excellent quality
