Let's break this title down .....

No meatcleaver was used.
Also...there were no massacres. Where did the title come from?

They were cashing in on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre title. Many horror films post-TCM used similar sounding titles, which is why we ended up with titles that either featured a weapon in it- Axe, nail gun, meatcleaver, and/or Massacre in the title- Nail Gun Massacre, Slumber Party Massacre...and some used a State like California Axe Murders.

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

I saw "The Hollywood Meat Cleaver Massacre", a midnight double-feature (I don't think that they exist anymore) with the original "Night of the Living Dead" in Nanuet, NY, with my folks when I was 13.

I guess I might have thought that "The Hollywood Meat Cleaver Massacre" was an okay flick back then (it was a long time ago), but I was thinking, "What the fark! They all had butcher knives and there was not even one meat cleaver!"

Even at such a young age, I felt cheated that there were no meat cleavers!

I'll take your word for it that the movie sucked, and I don't reckon that I'll be looking to purchase it any time soon.
