What is it about Winnie the Pooh that people like?

I have been working my way through all the Walt Disney feature films from Snow White up and I just got to this movie. I have never understood why people hold Winnie the Pooh is such high esteem and after watching this movie for the first time in years I still don't get it. Can someone explain it to me? Keep in mind I am not a prude when it comes to animation. I love all kinds and I'm willing to give almost anything a shot.

Personally speaking, there's something about the stories and especially the characters that tap right into my inner child. There's just something wonderfully innocent and joyous about them, like Mr. Rogers.

Supermodels...spoiled stupid little stick figures mit poofy lips who sink only about zemselves.

MetFanMac hit that one on the head. Winnie the Pooh is classic.
