I love War films and historical films so it is surprising that I have never seen this.
Well actually it is not surprising when I think about it because it came out when I was a kid and is almost never on tv due to its length and its subject matter.
PATTON is always on tv in Britain but Mcarthur is seldom on,so I am wtching it right now.

It was obviously a big budget production of the old style.
I bet it made no money at all,did it get good reviews I wonder?.

It is an amazing story ,it is not a very exciting film but a history buff like me likes to see what he has read brought to the screen

There was a film about Patton and Mcarthur,why did nobody make a film about Eisenhower?

They did a miniseries titled Ike in 1979 with Robert Duvall as Eisenhower, and a made for TV movie titled Ike: Countdown to D-Day in 2004 with Tom Selleck.

Just saw it on TV. Damn good film.

Peck is as good here as Scott was in Patton.
