A sexist portrayal of a woman's sexuality

As much as I love Looking For Mr.Goodbar. It is making out that Theresa, is a messed up slut. Women have sexual needs too, after all sex is a human need. If it wasn't for sex the human race wouldn't be here. If this film was about men. The men would be jocks just having a good time.

Theresa has a good side, and that's helping and being a teacher to deaf kids. Then her other side is picking up men ( Don't most people go to bars looking for a one night stand).

It's her need got her killed. Based on a true story look it up on the net"

The book was written by a woman, but the screenplay was written by a man and the film was directed by a man.

What can I say, fears associated with unbridled sexuality are common to men and women, and occur all over the political and social spectrum. Even in the seventies, when screwing around was fashionable, there were people who were frightened or horrified by what was going on, and were sure that it would all end in tears. As it happened, they were right in a way.

The screenplay and film changed nothing significant from the original novel, which was based on a real case.

Ha! But what? The OP's claiming a woman wrote a "sexist" story about another woman's sexuality? Pathetic.
