that when i search for a classic film by peter weir the first result i get is some pos called save the last dance more like internet schlock database

Wow. I just noticed that too. How ridiculous is that? It even says "The Last Wave" exact match.

If you type in the exact title of the movie, "Save the Last Dance" comes up first. Not sure if this was what you were saying as well, but thought it was pretty weird.

try searching for the german title 'die letzte flut' - the correct entry pops right up!

Yes, it's pretty lame. It claims to favor popularity.

If you search "Citizen Cohn" -->Popular Results: Citizen Kane, etc
yet:
If you search "Citizen Ruth" --> Citizen Ruth, direct link

Okay, so it's about spelling, then? No!

If you search "The Last Wave" -->Popular Results: Save the Last Dance, etc
If you search "The Last Detail" --> The Last Detail, direct link
If you search "The Last Dragon" --> Popular Results: The Last Dragon, etc

...which starts smelling a bit fi$hy..

Sometimes it helps if you add the year of release after the title, as in The Last Wave (1977). I found it, no probs.

Just dropping in to report that, five years since the last post, Save The Last Dance STILL pops up at the top of a Last Wave search!

Its fixed now, but that was a bit eerie.
