How much would the dvd signed by the director be worth?

I got this DVD at a convention years ago right before Barrel Entertainment publicaly released it. I actually got the DVD signed by Roger Watkins, who passed away recently. I was just wondering how much something like this would be worth? I don't think I would ever sell it because obviously I won't ever be able to get something like that again.

I also have a VHS of a panel that he gave at the convention where he talks about all the drugs he was doing while he made the movie and how f-ed up he was most the time during the shoot. Pretty interesting panel really.

I would say anywhere from $200-400. Fred Vogel from TOETAG pictures also has the Barrel Dvd signed by Roger Watkins.

I just love film.

I actually met Fred Vogel at that same con most likely. My buddy and I ended up going to one of the hotel rooms with a group of about only 6 other people to watch a just finished cut of August Underground along with some of the stuff that didn't make it onto the LHODES dvd with the Barrel guys. It was probably one of the coolest experiences I've ever had.

Yeah ive hung out with fred a couple times and hes a great guy and the convention you guys were at was most likely Cinema Wasteland i am a regular attendee of it and its great

I wouldn't be suprised if your signed edition is worth more than 400, considering that a new unsigned copy goes for 300. Now all you gotta do is find someone who actualy wants to pay for it. I'm scheming on getting a copy, all I have is a ripped copy from the net, so I am curious about the quality of the official release. Is it a fullscreen print? I mean will it show up in a box on my widescreen tv? Also the copy I have is almost less than VHS quality. I know the film is notorious for it's low budget film stock, but do you think the print is even somewhat better than what I described? Please let me know.

The Barrel edition dvd is the best print you will find of this film. Even better than the original 35mm print. It's a must have and there aren't many in circulation that's the price is getting higher and higher.

The Barrel version is the best the movie has ever looked on home video, but that's not to say it looks good. It's still a pretty dodgy looking print. The best they could do, given the rarity of the source materials, I would imagine. I actually think it adds to the "grindhouse" feel of it...makes it more grimy and adds atmosphere. All I'm saying is don't expect a huge improvement in picture quality if you upgrade.

Did you know that they recently found the remaining 35mm footage of the gutting scene at the end of the film. Too bad they didn't find it when Barrel was mastering the film. They could have used that print instead of msstering it from an original VHS. But i still think the dvd looks pretty good given the circumstances and i am proud to own it.

My suspicion would be that it's worth a pretty penny, especially since Watkins has passed. I saw a photo on a horror fan board of a copy with a signed insert that a guy found out a used DVD store for $80. Given that it's such a hard film to find in the first place, a signed copy could be worth hundreds, although I'm not sure who would buy it aside from people like myself (provided I had the spending money).

I have an Australian import DVD of the film from a company called Hard Corps, but it's identical to the Barrel Entertainment release— two discs, same content and menus, but different packaging. I ordered it on eBay for $40 from a record exchange store, and they didn't have a photo on the auction so I had no idea I was getting the import (I actually didn't even know there was one). I was kinda bummed out at first as I was expecting the Barrel DVD, but when I realized that the discs were the same, I didn't care. It's a Region 0 release as well (THANK GOD) so I was able to play it on Blu-ray player. That said, if I ever come across the Barrel edition, I'll probably get it as well for the booklet (the Aussie import doesn't have a booklet, just a blurb on the flipside of the sleeve that is visible through the clear plastic case.
