How can I see this film? (answered)

Does anyone know if this film can be seen in any form? I've been on the lookout for a while with no sucess.

I understand that there was a subtitled version that showed at several festivals but I have heard nothing beyond that.

Does anyone have a copy of this in any form?

I would also like to see this movie again...it had a huge impact on me as a child. Any info anyone could give would be greatly appreciated!

I just purchased a copy of the newly released dvd which I found listed on ;both eBay and Amazon. It has EST's with very large color blocks highlighing the dialog. Annoying, but it's better than nothing.

I just watched it on Netflix -- but beware of the subtitling, which is infuriating. It is mostly bright white, which sometimes washes out in the black and white photography. Still, pretty good for 1977 -- and depressing to know that in 2009 there are probably still too many kids in this world that suffer his same fate.

The white subtitles are very annoying. The same thing happened with a lovely French film I recently viewed. And you're right, This movie was very progressive for 1977.

just watched it on Netflix (dvd, not streaming) and had the choice of two subtitles; the bright white that came on automatically, and then under subtitles, i was able to select english subtitles, which were orange with white background. unfortunately they were enormous so i actually watched it twice, once with the regular subtitles, and then again with the gigantic ones. worth the extr watch. i highly recommend this film.
