Kiss Destroyer,

Judging for your list,I´ll dare to guess you´re Bosnian. If that´s the case maybe you can help me, I read months ago about a Bosnian film due to release about the terrible matter of raped women during the war. Unfortunately I don´t remember the title, maybe you can help. As well as anyone who knows what film I´m talking about.

Awesome list, by the way.

Strange that there are no mentions of When Father Was Away On Business (Otac Na Sluzbenom Putu), Underground, and Dom Za Vesanje not feeling the Kusturica love people. Also while Croatian cinema is defenitly weaker then both Serbain and Bosnian, I think Wonderful Night In Split (Ta Divna Splitska Noc) was a pretty damn good film if not a bit too influenced by the likes of Tarantino and other Hollywood directors.

I don't have a list but, No Man's Land, Fuse, Cabaret Balkan, How did the war start on my island, When Father was away on buisniess, Kuduz, Perfect Circle, are some of the better movies!

reply

What? These are better movies? Incredible how nationalism can blind some people.

reply

It's interesting how you react on Bosnian movies, but when some former posters sent lists entirely containing Serbian movies that wasn't a nationalism for you, was it?

For me it wasn't, because this is what people feel, this is a matter of taste that someone likes certain movie better than another. Many younger people don't even have much chance to see movies from other ex-yu countries. So they create a list according to what they know, like and watch, and I don't know why someone still looks for nationalism after all these years. So let Bosnian people free to like movies according to their preferences.

On the other hand, it is ridiculous to make such lists. Every country has its own cinematography and who needs mixing them in lists that can (obviously) again separate people more than bind them. Have you ever heard that someone made a list of best ex-Austrohungarian, or ex-ThirdReich, or ex-OtomanEmpire countries?
