loved the young girl singing 'reasons'

not the doll she sang to, mind you, but i've done that scene in reality at that age many, many times...

i know, totally brought me back to my childhood, listening to my parents 45's :o)

Yep, yep, yep! The delicacy of that scene raised goosebumps on my arms. It is so beautiful and poignant and is one of the scenes from the film that will stay with me for a very long time. The mother's reaction to her daughter washed a memory of love over me - my memory of my mama and me when I was a child.

What a treasure this film is and I am so glad I caught it on TCM.

What was wrong with the doll? Do you often feel averse to inanimate objects? What did you think of the wallpaper? Anyway, she was hopeless. She didn't stand a chance in the business.
