Where did everyone first see this movie at?

I saw this movie at the drive-in with my girlfriend in 1977. The drive-in was cool because if your a partier,as we were , the stoner you got the better this movie got. Not that you had to be stoned to enjoy it then or now but it did add to the experience. You could hear people in other cars laughing their asses off all through the feature. In 1979 I became a theater manager of a dollar house and we packed them in with this movie for a couple of weeks. In 1981 I went to work for another theater chain ,also a dollar house, and again showed KFM and AGAIN packed people in to see it. People loved this movie at the time and ,as all the posts here show ,they still do, and it sold lots of tickets. I still have the original poster for this movie from that time and if you see it on ebay for cheap then buy it. This poster in good condition is now worth $150.00 to $200.00 depending where you see it listed for sale. People sell all kinds of posters on ebay well under their true value. What fond memories.

A friend and I rented it, being fans of ZAZ. We had no idea how raunchy it was, so we decided to watch it with my dad, who introduced me to Airplane years before. When CHSGIT came on, we both became beet red to be watching that with my dad. But by the time the girl said "Show me your nuts." we could not hold it in and burst with laughter. My dad joined in, and by the end of the movie we were all in tears.

Well I just randomly bought the movie on DVD. I am a fan of Airplane, as I have that on DVD to. And I don't know I saw people talking about this movie on VH1's I Love The 70's, that and coming here made me want to check it out. All I can say is no wonder I don't see it on T.V., can you imagine all the editing they would have to do to this movie? LOL. I do think the film is hysterical, but I just didn't "Get" the Bruce Lee Spoof. Granted, I have never seen any Bruce Lee movies. So that might have something to do with it. But don't get me wrong I did laugh a couple times in the sketch, but overall I think it was a bit to long, and like I said I just did not "Get" it like every other sketch. So that's how I found the movie on DVD.

This movie and I are nearly the same age, so I first saw it at home on video sometime in the late 1980s. I remember my mom being really excited to find it in the video store, since she had seen and loved it the first time around.

i first saw it on cinemax in 1988 (iwas about 9), at about 4am. my mom woke me, my brother, and my cousin up to seeit, bcuz we begged her to. she had no idea that it had so much cursing and nudity in it. i didn't see it again until i was about 17 (my mom made sure of that). but since then i've seen it about 45-50 times.

Had to put that in before my response. I'm watching it today - for the first time ever, even though I'm a grand old 35 years of age. Strangely, I've always known of this film - the title - but never really took to it. So glad I finally got around to watching!

Edit: I forgot to mention I'm a huge fan of the Airplane series, Naked Gun, the original Police Squad series and any other movie with this bizarre sense of humour. Let us pray that aliens don't judge us by these movies - ala Galaxy Quest.

I vividly remember the day I saw this with my friends at a regular theatre when it first came out. We were 14 and were SHOCKED at how dirty it was and that we even got in??? We were always getting turned away from R movies at the time. What was the big thing about that day? It was the day Elvis died and I remember when we came out of the theatre we heard the news...

So with the anniversary of that, it prompted me to rent it again after not seeing it in 30 years!

Wow now I feel young. Thanks! I saw it when I was about 5 and staying up WAY too late watching HBO, I think. This, along with Hollywood Hustle and Amazon Women on the Moon, is what makes spoof so awesome! Airplane is great but I like the variety in motion that thest three movies have. In that respect, the (MUCH) more recent Grindhouse ALMOST hit the mark. Anyway, that's my rant.

I saw this on USA UP ALL NIGHT on The USA Network back in the day when they would have like Friday and Saturday nights they would have a show on for 4 hours. They would have a female on Friday nights her name was Caroline Schlitt and then when she left the show they replaced her with Rhonda Shear a beautiful blonde!

On Saturday night there was a guy who does the AFLAC Duck called Gilbert Gottfried who hosted the show from the beginning until the end. This was a great show to watch and the movies were great too! I miss this show and the movies they would show.

I first saw this movie on USA Up All Night, too. I liked the Rhonda chick. KFM was still hilarious even though it was edited for content.

I first saw this in a small local theatre either in 1977 or 1978 as it was heading out of theatres. I laughed like hell (the midget in the clown suit with the whip had me in tears.) throughout the movie. Even the few slow parts (and now I can't think of any) were just funny and quick enough that I glossed over them and back into the hilarity.

At first opportunity I picked up the DVD and I've enjoyed it every now and then since. It's good to somewhat forget about it for a while because when I watch it again, "Oh YEAH, THAT'S a riot!" A true Classic.

Now, where the hell is "TUNNELVISION"?

First saw this classic in 1980 at The Ohio State University's Drake Union. One of many favorite lines is "Send them to Detroit!"

I saw it when it was first released (1977?). I was 12 years old and it was my first R rated film (my older brother took me). I remember laughing so hard I cried. KFM is still one of my favorite flicks.

I saw it at our local theater when it first came out. One of my friends wanted to see it as much as I did, so we both planned on seeing it together. Two friends of ours, twin brothers, wanted to see it but they were underage. So, we took them as our "dates". They actually checked ID's back then when you went to R rated movies.

It was one of the funniest movies we had ever seen! Everyone in the theater was cracking up. A lot of the spoofs were about things that were popular at the time, so if you weren't around then they aren't as funny.

One of my favorite segments is "Zinc Oxide". I wish I could have a dollar for every one of those boring films I had to sit through in school. That spoof was dead on!

my older sister (3 yrs) picked it out as a rental when I was 7 or 8.

didnt understand much of it then, but i loved the titties (yea, even at 8).

...im almost 30 now :)

well i wuz born in 83 and im not sure what age i wuz when i saw it but lets jus say i wuz 2 young 2 c this movie atleast according 2 my mom luckily she didnt know i saw this movie when i did cuz i know she wouldnt have let me see it well we used 2 have the movie channels in the family room downstairs so i would watch a lot of movies down there and well 1 day or night or whateva i saw this movie untill seein it recently i didnt really remember it much i dont remember if i saw it from the beginning or caught it in the middle and either way im not sure if i watched it 2 the end

well i just watched it cuz 4 xmas my bro got me a gift card 4 best buy well i luv movies so i went through the movie section on bestbuy.com seein what movies i wanted 2 buy well since i like gettin the most 4 my money and am kinda a cheap bastard i went through the movies that were 6.99 and under well i found this movie and i remembered seein it so i decided 2 buy it i bought it kinda randomly cuz i didnt remember much bout it but i remember it bein funny but i questioned if i found it funny cuz it wuz actually funny or if i wuz jus a stupid little kid when i first saw it well i did remember that it had sexual jokes in it so then i thought how ill still probably find it funny then i did sum research and realized who made the movie and well i luv the naked gun movies and have them on dvd and i havent actually seen airplane but i know i should and well i just recently saw an american werewolf in london so i knew i liked john landis so i felt more posotive bout gettin the movie so i did

well it jus arrived in the mail 2day so i jus watched it really b4 all the other movies i got but thats partially cuz well its a movie that i can stop in the middle of and not really b interrupting nethin as long as i stop it in between 1 of the segments the other thing is i like 2 watch movies with my family and i felt if nethin theyd b more likely 2 watch 1 of the other movies i got so i dont like repeating stuff 2 much atleast not when i got sumthin new 2 watch well so i decided 2 watch the kfm now ill admit i didnt ever actually lol over nethin in the movie but 4 me thats kinda hard 2 do but i did find parts really funny and sum parts jus ok but still a great movie and a movie im happy 2 own

I'm 18 here so it's pretty much impossible for me to have had the privilege of seeing it in theatres. However, I am a HUGE fan of AIRPLANE! and The Naked Gun Trilogy and I watched the commentaries on the DVDs and in every one of them they mentioned this "Kentucky Fried Movie" so I was walking around in Circuit City oneday and they FINALLY had it in stock so I bought it right then and there. I watched it and was in tears laughing my ass off. My favorite part is the look on one of the news workers face when he sees what everyone else on set is gawking at. His eyes open wide and this dumb look rolls across his face. I was crying it was so funny.

I know I saw it in a theater when it first came out, but I can't remember if it was a drive in. Whatever it was it was funny as @%&$#.

I didn't see it until the mid-80's when it was on Cinemax or TMC. I recorded it and watched it over and over again.

I saw it in the Arnold Theater in Point Pleasant, NJ when I was 15. Thought it was the funniest movies ever. The CSGIT skit was forever imprinted on my 15 year old horny brain!

I first saw it on Comedy Central in the early-90's when CC first came on the air. I was pretty young as I was born in '81---12 or 13.

My friend and I were blown away at how funny it was. We immediately recorded it the next time it came on.

It's been a classic for me ever since.

It was 1978- I was 19 and in the Navy. I was in submarine school in Groton CN and they showed the movie in the base theater. It was hilarious! I have a great life now and a wonderful family now, BUT I have to say I wouldn't mind spending a few weeks back then again...it was a great time of my life.
