It never dawned on me before, but...

Why was there a random tiger running loose on the island, anyway? It's like one of Dr. Mureau's experimental animals escaped into the wild and they never bothered to recapture it.

I was under the impression the island was just full of exotic animals and he chose the location so he'd have plenty of animals to do his experiments with.

Regardless, it boggles my mind that I never thought of this. Kudos for noticing it. How many times have you seen the film?

I'd say about four times or so. I guess a wild tiger just doesn't raise any eyebrows on an island filled with "humanimals." Okay, yeah, it's a wild animal, sure, but there are far stranger creatures on the island to say the least.

That's certainly a possibility. Maybe Montgomery was half-serious when he joked that the island had "all kinds" of animals.
