for 1976 this was pure genius. no film at that time ever did anything like this and he made it look real. with the technology they had back then it wasn't an easy task and it took a lot of hours. they should have gave Rick an award for this

It always amazed me how Tom Savini has people to this day jizzing over the half assed effects he did in Dawn of the Dead, yet this movie was from the same time period and the effects are above and beyond anything Savini has ever done.
