I'M TED NELSON!!

*BLAM BLAM!*

reply

That was funny! Then Mike Nelson quips (as the monster reacts to what just happened) "No no, no relation to Ted Nelson"

reply

"I'm Ted Nelson!!!" works about as well as "Don't taze me, bro'!!!"

Just why the hell did they shoot him anyway?

reply

Don't worry about it...after all, what is life without Crackers ?

Perkins...the Uncanny

reply

Yea that was funny when he made a big deal out of not having any crackers to go with his soup. Hey monster on the loose, people getting killed, what does he worry about? Crackers!

reply

I think that the crackers were part of an intricate sub-plot that the director decided to get rid of during post-production. One can only wonder what marvels we have been deprived of!

reply

I hope im not the only one that understands that his cracker talk was just to distract his wife from asking about Steve.

reply

I think they were aiming at Steve (the Melting Man) and missed.

reply

New rule- when confronted by doughy security guards, never yell "I'M TED NELSON", unless you have a death wish.

reply

Kind of like in The Six Million Dollar Man, just being an astronaut made Steve Austin an expert in anything, and everybody knew who he was as a celebrity but he could still go undercover as a longshoreman or whatever. Being Ted Nelson is also a universal pass to go anywhere, do anything, and have instant name recognition with the popos.

reply

The scene with Ted being blown away by the security guards was pretty shocking. Steve West saves his life only to have the security guards waste Ted anyway. I loved the irony of it all.

"We're all part Shatner/And part James Dean/Part Warren Oates/And Steven McQueen"

reply

Apparently he thought being Ted Nelson made him bullet proof.

Well, that's my opinion anyway...

reply

He should have said- "I'm Burr DeBenning! The ACTOR!!

reply

Oh, man, I just realized that Burr DeBenning is dead. I knew Myron Healey and Michael Alldredge had been gone for a while, but this is just unacceptable. Hopefully they are partying with Rainbeaux Smith in Melting Man heaven.

reply

"STEVE!! STEVE ITS ME TED! HELP ME STEVE." Go through all that scene that has some meaning only to get shot. They sure were twisted in this movie, and the elderly couple picking fruit lol. The big capper is the janitor scooping up poor Steve and dumping him in the garbage. They obviously had one heck of a twisted sense of humor, fun anyway.

reply

Yea. Shoot the normal guy, and ignor the thing with gooey skin and no arm.
This guys a trouble maker, let's shoot him.

reply

And in the background we hear the next rocket being launched into space. What was it with movies back then that portrayed the space program operated on trail and error? 12 to the Moon, Rocketship X-M, Space Travelers; why depict an organization of the most intelligent imaginative people with little regard for human life? (And yes those other movies were MST3k riffed, its where most of us get our sense of humor ^^)

reply

I think the security guards both went to school with Ted and were bullied by him throughout their school life and when he shouted "I'm Ted Nelson!" All the thought of countless wedgies and heads down toilet bowls came back and they had to shoot him...

reply

The message of this movie is NASA DIDN'T LEARN, THEY JUST DIDN'T LEARN!
