Musical Schizophrenia?

Is it just me or do the opening bars of the Main Title sound an awful lot like a re-harmonized version of "King of the Road"?

I know it sounds daft, but taken in context it could be a musical joke on the part of the composer; the same way James Horner worked in bits of the Gilligan's Island theme into the score of The Perfect Storm (they're slowed down and played in a minor key).
