The camera pushing into the glass doors and breaking them is a spoof of "Rope". The doors are supposed to open allowing the camera to float in, in one uncut take.

What was apparently filmed but cut was Brooks wearing a green jump suit and coming out of one of the noses on Mount Rushmore.

"Great theater makes you smile. Outstanding theater may make you weep."

In terms of the song, I think he was parodying Frank Sinatra. Notice the way he lengthens out the notes. When he starts singing about "-xiety" it becomes too hilarious.
