cut-ins from other movies?

I love to pull this stupid movie out and watch the first half every now and then. Last time I watched it it struck me that the section with Louisa Moritz and Larry Storch, the "tennis instructions" moments, seemed like it was cut in from a completely different film altogether. It has absolutely nothing to do with the plot (a woman is coaching another how to get a date in a bar) and is disjointed, with characters you've not seen before and won't again. I was just wondering if they cut n' pasted this stuff from some other movie. Wouldn't surprise me as that sort of thing happened a lot then ("Hollywood Blvd") and this movie is kind of a mess plot-wise anyway.

I can't imagine anyone would even see this let alone know (or care) but thought I'd toss it out there...
