DVD? Hello..? Where are you?
what's the deal?

I too would love to have this wonderful movie on DVD. Unfortunately, this film was a big box office bomb when it first came out (both "Stars Wars" and "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" blew it off the screen) and is largely forgotten today by a majority of film buffs, so I doubt Paramount is in any rush to reissue it on disc. A DVD of this film would be great, preferably with a Jonathan Demme commentary and retrospective documentary interviewing various cast and crew members. Hopefully it will happen sometime soon. Until then I'll just hang on to my used VHS copy which I purchased for a mere three bucks (!) at some local mom'n'pop rental outlet which has since gone out of business.
shareI have it on DVD and I ordered it on e-bay. But it is a copy from a VHS. Has anyone with the VHS ever thought about converting it on disk? I know the quality is not the same but at least its on a dvd.
shareI looked it up on Ebay and found it on DVD, must have been three years ago now. Don't know if it was copied from a tape or not, but it was a good watch.
shareI am currently streaming it on Amazon Prime, open-matte/full-frame, clear PCM audio. Still a wonderful movie!***Come on SHOUT!Factory, produce an anniversary edition Blu-ray PLEASE!
