16 blocks

Ok, I just saw 16 blocks. Similar plot to the Guantlet. They even had a scene where bruce willis rammed a bus throught a bunch of cops. But it wasn't similar enough to be called a remake. So what's the deal? Was it Gauntlet inspired? Was it a Gauntlet tribute movie?

what gives?

Thanks

Movies with similar plots go way back. "Narrow Margin" comes to mind, as does "3:10 to Yuma." That doesn't lessen the value of "16 Blocks" or "The Gauntlet," both exciting, entertaining action flicks.

It's just the last 15min of The Gauntlet that they stretched out to an hour and a half.

It's basically the same movie with '16 blocks' being more compressed both in time and space.

I think 16 blocks is quite good except mos def, his voice is too annoying
