DARWIN LAMB Darwin W. Lamb, 83, the last of 11 siblings that made up the Lamb dynasty, passed away peacefully Jan. 24, 2016, surrounded by family, in his home, in Cedar City, Utah. Darwin went into politics and was president of the Nevada Young Democrats, chairman of the Hospital Board, the Fair and Recreation Board and the Regional Streets and Highways, as well as serving as a Clark County Commissioner. He enjoyed a successful movie career, appearing in "The Professionals," "Bite the Bullet," and "The Gauntlet" with Clint Eastwood, as well as several other movie appearances.

He recorded a record album, "I Have A Dream," and performed at several hotels as well as singing the National Anthem at the National Finals Rodeo. Darwin was a world-class cowboy with 38 championship buckles and saddles and drove in many cross country races. He also built "Los Rancheros Steak House," and founded Lamb & 1, a beverage distributor. Upon retiring, Darwin moved to Cedar City, and farmed and raised horses for racing and roping, built the "Longhorn Steakhouse," Ace Storage Units, Mr. Bubbles Car Washes and the Flying L Ranch Estates.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marion Paris Lamb; six brothers, Floyd, Sheldon, William, Phil, Ralph and Larry; and four sisters, Erma McIntosh, Fae Mason, Myrtle Howery, and Wanda Peccole. Darwin will be missed by his wife, of 37 years, Mavourneen Kingsbury Lamb; his children, Ocey (Vicki), Marion Claire and Tommy; three grandchildren, Taylor Lamb, Kevini and Jon Scolari; and two great-grandchildren, Mary Oliver and Dixon Grainger.

There will be a celebration of life noon-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, in Cedar City, at Rusty's Ranch House, 2275 E. Highway 14, Cedar City, UT 84721. There will also be a celebration in Las Vegas at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, at the LDS Church, 6051 Dorrell Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89131. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Primary Children's Hospital, 100 N. Medical Drive, P.O. Box 58249, Salt Lake City, UT 84158.
