The remake wasn't intended to be a tribute to the original. It's a completely different movie, just using the same idea of a mother/daughter switch, but set in modern day, with modern values and dialogue, and a completely different script.

I've seen it, didn't like it, prefer the original. You definately shouldn't watch it.

Saw it with my dad when if first came out. Had a crush on Jodie Foster for a while afterwards.

And I wouldn't TOTALLY denigrate the re-make. If it comes on TV, or you come across a copy when you have nothing else to do, it's an okay way to kill a couple of hours.

I saw it with my Brownie troop!

Remember seeing it in the odeon in wimbledon when there was 2 theatres near each other and you had to cue down the side road to get in.I was around 9 and remember the beatle car and watersking bits in the film and the police car slicing in half.......all very silly!

I saw this in theaters. I was about 10 and my sister and I caught it at the Riverside theaters in Danville VA. The theater is long gone and now it is a sometimes church replaced by a 12 theater megaplex. I miss the simpler 70s sometimes.

I was born in 76, so no I didn't. I'm watching it now (first viewing).

I don't remember the remake very well. I seem to remember thinking that it was a decent movie.
