Gregory Harrison

I remember seeing this when I was a kid. The scene where Gregory Harrison chokes was very disturbing to me. Did it bother anyone else?

Yeah, I saw it's original broadcast run, in '77. I was thirteen and was disturbed by Gregory's choking scene. I saw it again on cable about two years ago, and that scene still disturbs. His skin takes on a blueish hue and his eyes are dead. Just awful.

Hello. I played the character "Jim Jensen" in this movie, and was there the day they filmed this scene. I remember the producer had contacted a physician to get the progressively bluer colorings to be as accurate as possible depicting someone choking, unable to move any air. In real life, Harrison looked scary on the set, like he was dead. It was surreal to watch him between takes, like he was a dead man talking.

How neat that you saw it first hand. I was probably only 7 or 8 when I saw this movie but because it was so realistic, I remember that part very well.

I always liked this film. It DID get a lot of airings in its day. Probably haven't seen it in over 25 years now. Would love to see it again someday so I could record it.

Yes, the choking scene was quite scary in this. (and I always loved liver! Not raw though!)

I remember seeing the last half (on TV) in the late Seventies...and hell, yes, the choking scene was pretty horrible and difficult to watch. It's really the only thing I remember about the movie...I don't think I've ever seen the entire film.

I've choked on food a couple of times--and it's terrifying. What an awful way to die.

Even on a black-and-white screen, you could somehow tell the actor was "turning blue" as he fought for air. They really did a masterful job in "painting him up" for that difficult scene.

I saw the same scene decades later--and it was in color this time, which made it even more awful to look at. It's been years and years since my last viewing. Excuse the pun, but I'd kill to be able to see this one again, in its entirety, so I could record it and save it...it's definitely a keeper.

Hello, Jeff Tolstad. I did extra work and worked the boom mike for about half the movie along with Dave Stauffer. Wasn't there for the choking scene but danced some of The Birdland. Long time ago, great times.

Hope you're well.
