Needs a sequel…

You have a point. Caroline did seem to have deep regret. As mom use to say she "threw gold away for trash". But who knows. On the other hand, the movie is over 40 years old, a little late for a sequel. A remake might be nice, where we find out if they reunite. Elgin did seem like he simply wanted to move on. Maybe Shelley and his friend break up and he hooks up with her. Then again, would Caroline's wealthy family accept working class Elgin?
