Maybe it's just me but....

*POSSIBLE SPOILERS*
I found Elgin Smith to be sort of arrogant and at times a jerk. I didn't sense an ounce of compassion from him when he learned of Caroline's father's suicide and how torn up she was about it.

Then in the middle when Caroline doesn't want to see him anymore,he's understandably angry but he still yearns for her and wants her back. But when she finally does come back to him, he suddenly decides that they're done because he couldn't fully trust her. I can understand where he couldn't fully trust her but was it really necessary to call it off?

I guess that last part was an issue I had in the writing with the way it played out in the movie. I just would have done it differently.

Initially I disliked her, but wound up disliking him. I like to think that years later he looked back and kicked himself.

Yeah I thought Elgin was a real jerk. Actually they both were but then again I couldn't be surprised. I thought the movie was stupid. That's the thing with these more 'modern' movies; the ones in which sex is no big deal. Sex takes over the movie and edges out the plot. A lot of the movie is about who's having sex with whom. I was left wondering what they had in common. Once the sex was no longer there, what else was there really? Nothing!

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]
