There's 8 minutes more commercial time per hour now than there was when the special debuted in 1977. To compensate for the increased commercial time, they tend to edit older programs when they air on TV.
I have this special taped from when it aired probably in the mid-80s. I watched it for the first time in years last night (which led me to check out this page today), and I can definitely post the lyrics in a few hours after work. :)
