Warner Archive DVD vs Warner Home Video 2005 release

I've been on a real sci fi rampage lately since I heard they discovered the lost ending to Saul Bass's Phase IV, and this is the next movie I HAVE to see. I need to know which release I should buy since there is a 15 dollar difference in the two and I might not even like it. The Warner Archive release is a DVD r I know, but how is the picture quality, better than the 2005 release? The aspect ratios are different as well. Also will this release play in a PS3? Please someone let me know or I will break down and probably buy the wrong one. The Warner Archive release is the cheaper one by the way.

The quality of both is virtually the same, though you could find a used copy of the 2005 DVD for cheap.

Check out the always reliable DVD Beaver site for their comparison review: http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film4/dvd_reviews_58/demon_seed.htm

Warner Archive discs should have no problem on a PS3.

thanks for the reply but I broke down and already grabbed the warner archive DVD. Your right, it plays fine in a PS3 and looks as good as a DVD can look. Thanks again.
