The newer version . . . less ambivalent

****Spoilers to the newer book version

In the original, Proteus seems to be the saviour of all life and humanity on the planet. In the remake novel, it is clear that the A.I. of the compurter suffers from what is possible of all intelligent life (humans) . . . mental illness.

It is facinating how the newer book took on a more diary protrail, from Proteus' point of view, and it becomes apparent to the reader that this new A.I. is suffering from a psychosis disorder.

Also, It was a supprise that the new born was not human, but what the machine understood to be a more advanced species to dominate the world. Insect!

I wish I could read the original. I loved how the new version of the book has it from Proteus' side of view. Which at times, is startling and downright creepy (examples include how he continues to repeat "I am not bitter" over and over...) and that devilishly creepy inmate/butler for Proteus was interesting too.

The original also has some of it from from Proteus' view, and I actually find the original far better than the revised edition. The revised has some great, tense and funny moments, but the original is so much more gloomy and rather scary.

I loathed the newest version of "Demon Seed"! The original novel wa quite fine and closer resembles the film. I have an old paperback copy in ok shape. If you are serious about wishing to read it, you may have my copy. I'll mail it to you, no charge. Simply provide a po box or addres you would like it sent.
I'll likely never read it again & it is mearly taking up space on a shelf.

Man! If you are serious about sending that book, are you okay with sending it to Hungary? That is, if the other guy isn't interested. I will provide the address via email. My email is [email protected]

If you still have the book I would like it, I've been looking for it for years now. I saw the movie when I was younger and then read the book which was updated and that annoyed me some. My email is [email protected], and I will give you my PO Box that way if you still have the book.

This reply is 6.5 years late, but if you're still reading, I would very much like to read the original 1973 version.

PDF is fine, as well as .epub or .azw formats.

I'll return with my email address upon your reply.

Because Dean Koontz sucks? I mean, really.

Yes, Dean Koontz wrote the original in 1973, long before he was a bestselling novelist.
