Just saw this on streaming not too long ago. Was really amazed. Such a twisted, original thriller. I've never seen such an original take on religion/horror/scifi before and it hasn't been done since. Almost sacrilegious.

Would probably seem like brand new material to current audiences. Heck, with today's mass shootings, the challenges facing a modern day church, and the popularity of shows like "Ancient Aliens"... a remake would seem totally relevant and could be even better than the original.

Because he's an idiot, and like all idiots on imdb, they just cant wait to see a movie remade with their favourite "flavour of the month" actor in it.

Remake something that could have only worked in mid-1970s Manhattan? I don't think so. Perfect as is - don't mess with it.

Director Gaspar Noe (Irreversible, Enter The Void) was interested and met with Cohen to discuss it years ago. I wonder if anything will come of that.

They could remake this about Islamic Terrorism (Allah Told Me To?)
Except there'd be nothing fictional about it.
