The Dialog Between Richie and His Father Question?

What is said near the beginning of the movie between Richie and his father when his Dad comes to see him and Richie gets angry for waking him up in the middle of the night? The sound is very muffled on both the You Tube video and the DVD that I have seen. I have a hearing impairment and the sound quality REALLY has not been improved in any way. Sadly, the film quality shows its age.

Could someone just paraphrase the dialog? Thanks!

Are you talking about when Richie gets home after smoking pot with his friends, then comes home and hops into bed and pretends to be asleep? Alot of dialog went on there.

Yes,

I don't need the verbatim words, there is a lot there! I just have never been able to make out what was said.

He suggests that the family go to the mountains for a vacation. He talks about how he would have liked to be a forest ranger, but since he never got to go to college, he's just a spice salesman and always will be. He tells Richie that he has a better shot in life, though, if he would only ditch his stoner friends and stop doing drugs. That's when Richie gets angry.
