Tarantino ever mention this movie?
This gory cheesy flick is such grindhouse that I wonder if QT has ever mentioned or discussed this film. Especially since he hired Don Stroud for a cameo in Django Unchained (the sherrif).

Yes.
I saw a youtube video recently of a Django premiere, and I'm assuming it was in Canada because the interviewer specifically asked QT if he admired any Canadian filmmakers. He said yes, William Fruet, and mentions both Funeral Home and House by the Lake. Funeral Home has also been in one of his QT Fests.
I just watched House by the Lake for the first time the other day, and I was blown away by how good it was. It's one of my top rape/revenge movies now. And the opening chase totally reminded me of Death Proof.
I thought of Death Proof when watching the opening scene as well.
