This is one of my favorite movies, but I have always been a little confused as to how the mother ship appears near the end of the film. We see it rising from behind Devil's Tower. Seriously, was it in the ground? How do you hide something that big behind something that's actually smaller than it? Did anyone bother to check behind the mountain and see it sitting there?

I have wondered that from the start. And it appears to fly upside down but that I guess is explainable.

The Mothership emerged from above the clouds, not behind the tower.

Perspective. I can hide entire trees with my thumb
